Body and territory as basic rights of life.
Our struggle for human rights is born from the ground of the biomes, where our body-territories have continued to resist for more than five centuries.
For us, indigenous women, human rights are not distant speeches or paper promises. They are seeds that sprout from social justice, from the demarcation of territories, from confronting violence and from strengthening our ways of life.
We recognize ourselves as guardians of biodiversity, memory and the future. And, therefore, the defense of human rights is intrinsically connected to the struggles for land, for the protection of our bodies, for food sovereignty, for the preservation of our knowledge and for the autonomy of our peoples. In the world that violates us, defending our bodies is defending our territories.
Our Work: From the village ground and into the world
We continue to sow our voices in the spaces where decisions that impact our lives are built. We work in networks, forums, councils and conferences that guide human rights both in Brazil and in international scenarios.
Our incidence is permanent. In 2024, we took our voices to the United Nations CEDAW Committee (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) , where we presented the report “Voices of Women Originating from All Brazilian Biomes”, reaffirming that the right to land, confronting the climate emergency, and combating gender violence are pillars of our struggle
We participate in the National Council for Indigenous Policy (CNPI), coordinating the Gender Thematic Group, and we are also part of the PNGATI Management Committee (National Policy for Environmental and Territorial Management on Indigenous Lands), strengthening the construction of public policies that guarantee the management of our territories and our knowledge.

Collective construction processes
Our work is also strengthened by the holding of the 1st National Conference of Indigenous Women, in 2025, the result of a Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples and the Ministry of Women. This process has mobilized indigenous women from the six biomes to debate, build and influence public policies aimed at the protection of body-territories, confronting violence, territorial management, health and climate justice
In addition, we continue to build the Global Uprising of Indigenous Women for the Planet, an international mobilization that is born from our territories and connects with women from all over the world in defense of Mother Earth.
